The Old Maid and the Thief

In this opera, created for the purpose to be broadcasted on live radio, Penn State's Opera Theater tells the story of Miss Todd, her housemaid Laetitia, the wanderer Bob, and their nosy neighbor Miss Pinkerton. Who's the old maid and who is the thief you ask? You'll have to take a listen to find out!

Marissa was thrilled to try a new approach to theatrical performances by working with the soundboard during this live broadcast! Visit the link below to listen to the full opera!

Dido and Aeneas

Join Penn State Opera Theater as they tell the heartbreaking story Dido and Aeneas. In this story the successful Aeneas has just left the destroyed land of Troy off to build a new empire when he stumbles into the kingdom of Carthage ruled by queen Dido. The two are brought together but pulled apart by fate in this hauntingly beautiful opera composed by Henry Purcell.

Marissa has been elated to debut her first operatic role as Spirit, in the form of Mercury, as well as perform in the first fully staged operatic performance since March of  2020 with her fantastic colleagues! Visit the link below to watch the full opera!

Empow(h)er

Empow(h)er is a concert put together by the students of Penn State's School of Music to recognize female composers! Many different musicians brought their favorite pieces by female composers and created a beautiful haven for recognition and celebration!

Marissa was absolutely amazed to be able to collaborate with her talented collegue Carter Houston (baritone) for this performance! They both worked to edit together a smooth audio and visual effect to portray Lori Laitman's "I am in Need of Music". Visit the link below to view the entire concert!
