B i o g r a p h y
Marissa Perri is a Soprano vocalist in the State College, Pennsylvania area. She is currently in the studio of Rachel E. Copeland and has previously studied with others such as Norman Spivey and Valerie Haber.
Marissa has dedicated her time to studying music for 14 years. She spent 7 years involved in community musical theater productions playing roles such as Irene from Hello Dolly, Emily Arden from State Fair and Cinderella from Into the Woods.
She began her classical experience by starring as Amahl in Amahl and The Night Visitors at Poor Richards Opera in Philadelphia in 2012 as well as performing in the children's chorus of Bizet's Carmen at Delaware Valley Opera Company in 2013. Marissa has focused her studies to classical training since attending University. She has spent the last two years being heavily involved with Penn State's Opera Theater in which she starred in her first role as Spirit, in the form of Mercury from Dido and Aeneas in 2021.
Marissa is currently understudying the role of Susanna in Penn State's Opera Theater which is set to open in March of 2022. She is studying to complete a Bachelor's of Music at Pennsylvania State University's School of Music and is set to graduate in 2023.
