BIOGRAPHY

Marissa Elizabeth Perri, a Philadelphia native, is passionate about delivering compelling performances to audiences nationwide. Most recently, she appeared as the Hausaufmeister in Ariadne auf Naxos, while covering Zerbinetta. An emerging light lyric coloratura, she is recognized for roles including Rossignol in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges at the Peabody Conservatory and Constance in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites (2023). Her previous credits include covering Venus in Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival (2022) and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro with Penn State Opera Theatre (2021). Marissa is deeply committed to the development of contemporary opera. At Penn State, she collaborated with opera director and pianist Dr. Blair Salter in Opera Workshop, a program dedicated to introducing audiences to new works in partnership with living composers. She believes innovative operas help the classical genre thrive by addressing modern conflicts and experiences. Beyond performing, Marissa explores the intersection of music and marketing. She has worked with Johns Hopkins University managing the Doctoral Life Design Studio’s social media and producing podcasts. She values authenticity in digital spaces, emphasizing the importance of presenting one’s true self in a society shaped by social media. Marissa resides in Baltimore, Maryland, and recently earned her master’s degree in music from the Peabody Conservatory.
